SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TEMECULA VALLEY WINERY TEMECULA, CA MARCH 19, 2010: With the 2010 Wine Competitions in full swing and results being announced each day, it is not surprising then that South Coast Winery is once again proving itself to be the "gem" of Southern California's Temecula Valley Wine Country for creating quality, world-class wines that are perfectly priced to give consumers incredible flavor and value. The latest results arrived in-house today from the Jerry D. Mead New World International Wine Competition in which South Coast Winery earned the following 17 top awards:
2 Best of Varietal
2 Best of Class
Double Gold
2 Gold South Coast Winery owner and vintner Jim Carter shared this, "Last year’s New World International Wine Competition judges awarded us a total of 14 medals: 1 Best of Class, 3 Gold, 10 Silver medals and 1 Best of Class medal for our 2008 South Coast Winery Gewurztraminer. However, in looking at the mix of South Coast Winery’s reds, whites, sparkling and port wines that earned the top–tier top awards this year, we’re absolutely delighted with these impressive results." "In fact, in these uncertain economic times, South Coast Winery is steadily proving to its valued customer base -- and the industry at large -- that quality, award winning wines don’t have to cost a lot of money, and great wine selections can be bought locally by Californians with confidence and pride." South Coast Winery shocked the industry when it earned back–to–back recognition with the prestigious California State Winery of the Year award given it for the past two years, so wine enthusiasts and novices alike are keeping close watch this year on South Coast Winery as the 2010 competitions unfold. South Coast Winery produces a broad portfolio of premium wines that are 100% grown and produced with care under his tutelage in Southern California’s up and coming Temecula Valley Wine Country. Over the course of the first six years of its production, the winery has received over 1,000 awards and medals from both regional and international wine competitions. The winery graces the grounds of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, a 38–acre destination property located in the heart of Temecula’s Wine Country at 34843 Rancho California Road, Temecula, California and also has a wine–country themed restaurant and tasting room in the heart of Orange County California, and both can be found online at www.southcoastwinery.com.
